WHAT IS ROSACEA?
Rosacea is a common skin condition characterized by redness and visible broken capillaries which may also be associated with acne - type bumps. The cause of Rosacea is unknown, but it could be due to a combination of hereditary and environmental factors. This condition is most common in Northern European heritage.
There are several known triggers such as alcohol, spicy foods, sun exposure and caffeine that may make the condition more apparent but do not cause Rosacea.
HOW IS IT TREATED?
Treatment for Rosacea focuses on controlling signs and symptoms. Most often this requires a combination of medical grade skin care, sun protection, laser therapy, such as Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) and if necessaty prescription topicals and oral antibiotics.
